The Tiger Leaping Gorge of Lijiang, Yunnan, China

 

The Tiger Leaping Gorge provided a kaleidoscope of experiences, landscape and encounters.

  2. A family gathers in Lijiang for the traditional Qing Ming as they watch television
  3. Here they share generously of their meal with visitors. The variety of the food reflects the importance of ancestral worship in this matriarchal community.
  4. The hardy Naxi women folk gather thickets for cooking.
  5. On the slopes of the Tiger Leaping Gorge, bunds divide lush farms and cultivation as the we enjoy the landscape and traverse to descend the slopes down to the spot where the mythical tiger leapt across the mighty Yang-tze tributary at its narrowest point.
