Questions Asked On the Road

Not uncommonly, it is not the right answer that creates clarity but the correct question that is being asked

Why do you persecute me? (Damascus)

What are you looking for? (Bethany, by the River Jordan)

Who do you say I am? Who do men say that the Son of man is? (Caesarea Philippi)

Do you love me more…? (Banks of Tiberias)

Who is my Neighbour? (From Jerusalem to Jericho)

What are you discussing together as you walk along? (Emmaus)

What were you arguing about on the road?(Capernaum)*

Do you want to be well again? (Sheep Pool, Bethzatha)

  • *Mk 9:33-34 Jesus and his disciples came to Capernaum, and when he got into the house he asked them, ‘What were you arguing about on the road?’ They said nothing, because on the road they had been arguing which of them was the greatest.
So he sat down, called the Twelve to him and said, ‘If anyone wants to be first, he must make himself last of all and servant of all.’
