We are again reminded that to do good and to be renewed in our desire for the eternity, we need to not only be new wines – but to be clothed in new skins*. The other gem that comes to mind in adopting this new clothes  is to accept that we are mere vessels** – and this is such a difficult thing to do, because human-kinds are ultimately motivated by a sense of achievement of self.

It is hard to tell ourselves that we are not responsible, at least in part, for some of the successes in our time, for whatever endeavors we have achieved.

It is thus fitting to recall the concepts that we will look back in time, to recognize that:

….yes, God was with us in the retrospective

….. he accepted us as we were

…. he accepted us where we were

….. that the less traveled road was indeed the road well taken***.

*And nobody puts new wine into old wine skins; otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins too. No! New wine into fresh skins! (Mk 2: 21-22)

**But we hold this treasure in pots of clay, so that the immensity of the power is God’s and not our own. (Cor 4:7)

***Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. (Robert Frost)
